Senior Web Application Engineer

Description

My Client is a leading company in the Cork Region and they currently have a requirement for a Senior Web Applications Engineer.

Role

The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of JavaScript development for our Linux-based platform. Activities will include:

Development of a modular client-server, web-based platform and application framework for apps

Creating web-based applications and widgets

Building background services supporting front-end applications

Integration of components and remote systems into the platform

Software design and documentation

Optimisation, profiling and debugging

Communication with our partners, customers and vendors in an effective way to understand the best possible solution

Internal support, knowledge sharing and mentoring

Qualifications & Experience

Third Level Degree in a computer-related discipline

5 years+ development experience.

Technical Skills

Excellent knowledge of Javascript

Proficiency with HTML5 and CSS3

Skilled in the development of web-based apps for mobile devices

Experience with multiple Javascript frameworks, build systems, tools and deployment mechanisms

Good knowledge of relational databases

A methodical programmer with a focus on design, code readability and documentation

Expert troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse problems and associated data

Key Requirements

Excellent communications and analytical skills, both oral and written

Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks

Linux and shell scripting

Experience with the dojo framework

Experience with node.js and creating native node.js modules
