Java Software Developer - Dublin
My client a leading software development house based in Dublin is currently recruiting a talented Java software engineer to join their team. Being part of this team you will be contributing your experience and expertise to turn problems into features that help the team deliver a high quality release on time. You will be a part of a team with a passion for creating great software and with a collaborative upbeat work ethic where you have ownership over a part of each release.
You report to the development manager.
Responsibilities
" Participate in full-cycle software development
" Develop and maintain interactive web applications working across the full tier
" Develop software prototypes, evaluate emerging software technologies, and evaluate third party solutions
Required Skills / Competencies
" An excellent knowledge of J2EE, Web services
" Knowledge of standard front end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
" Good knowledge in some back end technologies like Spring, Hibernate, SQL or others
" Good knowledge of source control
" Database experience, ideally in Oracle, DB2 or SQL Server
" Good communication skills both written and verbal
Preferred Skills
" Familiarity with software development processes and the software product lifecycle
" Experience in Financial applications an advantage
" Knowledge of Open Source libraries, tools and frameworks
" Excitement for the latest trends in application design
" Experience with agile software development methodologies
" Interest to learn more about new languages and frameworks
Typical Experience
" BA/BS in Computer Science
" You should have 3 to 5 years (or more) in a professional Java development role.
" Hands on experience with OOAD, debugging, testing, consumer-facing application development in Java
