DESCRIPTION
My client, a leading Financial Services company is seeking an Automation Test Engineer in Galway.
The Automation Engineer position is responsible for developing and executing test automation scripts and automation frameworks to be used for functional, regression and production validation testing.
Primary Responsibilities
Designing, developing and executing automation tests for software development projects
Researching automation tools, methods and technology trends to support departmental test automation objectives
Contributing to the development and promotion of design and coding standards of automated testing scripts
Develop keyword and hybrid automation frameworks for reusable functions and components that can be used to maintain and extend automated tests for multiple projects
Develop test scripts that perform batch and interactive tests automatically
Review manual test cases, executing where necessary, to understand the low level detail and identify functions required to enable scripting/coding
Identify application components to be automated based on both the business priority and expected benefit of automation testing
Execute automated test scripts for both functional, regression and production validation cycles and report results automatically
Maintain test scripts, making changes where necessary in order to maintain their proper functioning as application and data change
Work with vendors, development, operations and other QA teams on testing needs
Provide level of effort and schedule estimates for script development work
Document and report application problems found using automated tests
Participate in project related meetings for test planning and develop test data in preparation for test execution
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
3-5 years of development and/or test automation experience
Skills and Knowledge
Strong scripting language experience ( eg VB script, perl, Java script etc )
Proficient in UNIX/Linux environment
Experience in QTP, Selenium, Soap UI
Experience with the Java development
Experience with Automic (UC4), Jenkins & GIT Stash a plus
Experience in test cases design, development and execution
Strong communication, problem solving skills
Good knowledge of System Development Lifecycle
