My client is a leading company in the Financial Services sector in Galway and they currently have a requirement for a Contractor for a Senior Systems Analyst.
As a member of the Analysis and Quality Assurance Engineering (QA) group, you will work in a fast-paced agile development environment with business and system teams to define requirements and ensure applications satisfy business requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Gathering of requirements and leading the systems design effort, requirements definition and documentation.
Manage priorities and workload associated with multiple, concurrent projects.
Effectively communicate and influence business partners to gain consensus on project issues.
Provide technical leadership to junior team members.
On occasion, present to moderate sized groups on technical subjects and demonstrate systems.
Assure project meets quality standards by providing technical guidance, planning, and test execution on complex projects.
Define and execute production verification and validation.
Work under minimal direction.
Proactively communicate findings and project status to management.
Define and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
8+ years systems analysis experience within the IT field, financial services, or related environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar.
Strong organizational and problem solving abilities.
Strong verbal and written communications and presentation skills.
Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with business and systems personnel in a team environment.
Must possess a willingness and aptitude to embrace new ideas and master concepts rapidly.
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
Skills and Knowledge
Applications/technology knowledge and expertise in web applications.
SQL expertise.
Experience with agile development methodologies.
Expertise using Rational Team Concert, Selenium, RQM and BPT a plus.
Experience with trading systems, mutual funds, investment professional and shareholder sites is a plus.
Solid understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, testing, problem resolution and planning.![]()
