My client is a leading multinational company in Cork and they are looking for an experienced contractor for a Senior Systems Engineer/Administrator for a minimum 12 month contract.
As a Senior member of the Engineering team you will be expected to provide tier1, tier2 and tier3 operational support for global engineering environments that meet a diverse set of business requirements. Linux system administration is at the core of this role however often you will field support related incidents for NFS, LSF, FlexLm, NAS and other technologies within large scale compute environments. Additionally the development of solutions, scripts and/or processes to automate the management of specific environments, services, tools and servers is required. In addition to testing and documenting the requirements, you will be responsible for research and development of new technologies with a focus on performance and engineering efficiency while adhering to enterprise standards. You will work closely with the Hardware and Software Engineering design community, vendors, and peers as a subject matter expert. You will build strong relationships within multiple, global lines of business and partner with multiple architectural teams to influence the design and standards with a global operational perspective.

Responsibilities - Provide tier1, tier2 and tier3 support for supported lines of businesses.
- Provide license support for end users, including: debug of FlexLM license environment, installation of new keys on demand and maintenance of FlexLM options files.
- Act as change agent to evolve existing Engineering Compute standards (globally) to meet specific/updated business requirements.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects with strong communication, written, customer service and organizational skills. Presentation skills a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills
Skills/Experience IT, unix/linux/solaris system administration, windows administration, LSF, NFS, hardware design, data centre management, IT operations, information security, EDA/CAD, JIRA, scripting (PERL/BASH), FlexLM, LSF License Scheduler a plus, knowledge of CDMA, GPS and chipset design a plus.
