My client, a leading technology company is Cork has an urgent requirement for a Senior Software Tester.
Qualifications & experience:
Third Level Degree in a computer related discipline.
5-6 years of hands on software testing.
In-depth knowledge and experience of testing methodologies, quality assurance standards and best practices.
Technical & Soft Skills:
Software test experience in Web and Java based technologies.
Working knowledge of and demonstrable trouble-shooting skills on Linux/Unix environments. Working knowledge and experience of Relational databases and SQL.
Experience with web app automation tools such as Selenium, SoapUI and Jmeter. Knowledge of Python and or Groovy scripting is desired.
Experience in Usability Testing.
Experience of Issue tracking systems and Test Case management tools.
Ability to quickly develop technical understanding of complex applications and their requirements. Experience creating and executing test plans.
Experience in releasing quality products with a strong customer focused approach. Detail orientated with excellent problem solving skills.
Proven team player with an enthusiastic approach.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. English: Fluent
Key Requirements & Responsibilities
Work collaboratively as part of a cross functional scrum team.
Identifying and estimating test tasks required for completion of user stories. Review of requirements in respect to testability and coverage.
Planning and execution of test plans.
Creation and review of test cases achieving a high standard of tests.
Test environment management with responsibility for ensuring required hardware and software is identified, acquired and configured in accordance with individual project needs.
Manual and automated testing of products.
Defect/Bug Logging with clear steps to reproduce and descriptive impact analysis.
Liaising with QA /Project/Programme Managers to ensure consistency and compliance in respect to quality assurance processes. Proactively identifies and initiates process improvements.
Evaluating new tools to improve efficiency.
