My client, a Leading Global Bank based in Dublin, has an exciting opportunity for a confident individual who wishes to work on a strategic and re-engineering programme, allowing them to build their analytical, functional and client facing skills within an Investment Banking environment.
You will work in a rapidly expanding Data Analytics department with responsibility for defining Data standards. You will be a key link between IT and the business. This is a permanent position paying between 55-59k per annum.
The Business Analyst will capture and document the data requirements, analyse the non compliance, work with the technical team to implement the solution and support the business throughout the implementation process. The candidate will be a self starter, analytical and able to work independently. Any experience of reverse engineering projects would be a big advantage. A key attribute of this role is helping to create a collaborative environment that ensures that the collective investment that the Bank has made in building knowledge and techniques for data management are harnessed in the most efficient manner possible.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist stream leads for each Data Standard in managing the relationship with Functional stakeholders and Global Technology partners
* Assist in the development of the data standards that can be used to measure data treaty compliance
* Develop an understanding of the work done to date through the organisation to measure data effectiveness
* Work in tandem with strategic data architecture team to ensure tactical and strategic views of data standards remain aligned
* Help define the book of work to remediate data standard gaps
* Become fluent in the tools used to analyse data
* Participate in working groups directly and indirectly relating to metrics and regulatory reporting
* Contribute to project streams delivering against planned book of work for data remediation
* Conduct root cause analysis where there are breaches to compliance of data standards and where there is a high volume of manual adjustments
* Analyse and document current state system architecture flows, field mappings, data standard rules and user processes to bring transparency to the complexity and interdependence between systems and data
* Prepare business requirements to meet required Data Standards for syndication and sign-off from stakeholders across all functions including front office, infrastructure and IT.
REQUIRED
* Experience in Business Analysis and Financial Services
* Inquisitive nature and able to ask pertinent questions that tease out issues and drive the analysis forward
* Strong analytical skills; able to demonstrate flexibility regarding problem solving
* Knowledge of business analysis methods and tools
* Experience in data flows and root cause analysis
* Ability to prepare project documentation to a high standard including business and functional requirements, use cases and process flows
* Experience in collating data requirements logically
* Excellent communication both written and verbal with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
* Experienced in handling and analysing large volumes of data (e.g. 1 million plus records) ; competent using Microsoft Access and Excel
* Ability to identify and interpret stakeholders needs and requirements
* Ability to work in virtual teams and matrixed organizations
* Ability to commit and prioritize work duties and tasks
PREFERABLE
* Experience in data standard initiatives
* Understanding of Relational Databases
* Experience working in an Investment Bank, with good product knowledge in at least one asset class
* Knowledge of Regulatory Risk, Trade Systems or Financial areas of a bank
* Experience of trade capture systems and associated functionality and data flows
* Knowledge of industry standards e.g. FpML, FIX
