Our client are seeking to recruit an experienced Network Security Engineer based in Galway with key responsibilities including implementation and administration of Network Security hardware and software, enforcing the network security policy, and complying with requirements of external security audits and recommendations.
Location: Galway
6 month contract with strong potential of longer term role
Salary: 60k+
Key Responsibilities:
o Perform analysis of network security needs and contributes to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
o Analyzes, troubleshoots, and corrects network problems remotely and on-site.
o Maintains and administers perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
o Implements and administers IP load balancing with Citrix Netscaler and other software/hardware as necessary.
o Designs and implements remote connectivity solutions including IPSec VPN,PPTP, and SSL.
o Design, configure, and implements security for Citrix Presentation Server solutions
o Troubleshoots Windows 2008/2003/2000 permission and other related issues
o Ensure that new application servers including file and print, database, web, mail, servers and call center applications are hardened and meet industry security requirements
o Administers and configures Windows 2008, Windows 2003, and Unix-based systems, as needed.
o Performs network and systems security audits and assessments for all networks.
Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering
or other relevant field.
o Minimum 5 years directly related work experience in network, security administration\ engineering.
o Prior hands-on professional experience must include Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Cisco ASA, Cisco Wireless.
o Working knowledge of operating systems including Windows 2008, Windows 2003,
Windows 2000, and UNIX.
o Working knowledge of network security, Cisco ASA firewall and VPN, intrusion
detection systems, authentication mechanisms, encryption technologies, and
networking protocols including SSL, SMTP, HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and SNMP.
o Strong analytical, reasoning, and organizational skills are essential
