My client, a leading employer in Cork currently requires a Senior Oracle Database Administrator. Working with other database administration staff, you will consult, advise and assist in the performance of technical activities.
Required Skills & Experience : You must have a solid background of database experience working in a Sun Solaris or LINUX environment. Enterprise production DBA experience working in a team in a mid to large sized company required.
Requirements include :
* Skills in Oracle database backup and recovery with RMAN
* Experience with Oracle 10g and 11g RAC
* Experience in design and implementation of highly available, scalable Oracle database solutions
* Experience in SQL tuning and Oracle database performance tuning.
* Experience with database replication technologies (Data Guard/Standby, MView, Advanced Replication, and Streams)
* Experience utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring and management
* UNIX shell scripting experience.
* Ability to work independently with supervision.
* You will either follow direction or work interdependently on basic to moderately complex assignments.
* Install, configure and upgrade Oracle server software and related products in a UNIX environment.
* Design, create, maintain and insure recoverability of Oracle databases in a UNIX environment.
* Allocate systems storage and develop plans for future storage requirements.(Capacity planning)
* Establish effective database performance monitoring procedures.
* Control and monitor user access to databases and maintain database security.
* Provide reliable, recoverable and scalable database computing environments to store and integrate company data.
* Responsible for 7x24 support of production databases.
Education :
BS in Computer Science/Information Systems preferred.
