My multinational client in Cork are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Position:
An opportunity to join a team focused on the design and development of embedded software for RF devices.
Tasks:
Design, implement and test software for RF systems
Handling complex software engineering assignments that require collaboration with local and remote RF, HW, Systems and Test engineering teams and the ability to work on tasks independently
Requirements:
10+ years real-time software development in an RF or similar embedded environment
Expertise in C/C++ programming of networking/transmission related devices (RF, Wi-Fi, Ethernet) in an embedded environment
Experience in control software for standards based (3G/4G/GSM/GPS/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth) highly integrated wireless devices, with emphasis on control of RF/analog components
Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum/signal analysers, generators, integrated call boxes
System level knowledge or practical experience with radio systems/circuits and an understanding of digital systems
Strong software development skills with experience in designing and developing complex device drivers in a layered architecture
Strong debugging skills with experience with embedded tools (jtag, emulators)
Experience developing software under and for Linux
Experience developing software for an embedded RTOS
Experience with Linux scripting utilities (perl, tcl, expect, shell)
Experience with writing Matlab scripts to control attached devices and equipment
Experience with UMTS, LTE and other wireless communication protocol software
Working knowledge of source code control and host development tools
Knowledge of the ARM architectures is a plus
Team player with excellent oral and written skills
Candidate should be degree qualified in Electronics or Communications Engineering, Computing or equivalent
