System Administrator
Opportunity to work with a leading vendor of set top box platforms, software and service delivery solutions for broadcast operators and service providers. The administrator will be responsible for the correct functioning, stability and security of the company's IT infrastructure and systems to support all staff, partners and customers, including development and QA teams.
The Role:
Leading the migration and ongoing development of the system and network infrastructure.
DevOps support for development tools and version control systems including Git, Subversion and the Atlassian suite
Ongoing management of internal user accounts
Participation in the evaluation, recommendation and selection of hardware and software solutions
Configuration of network management support services (monitoring, DMZ, VPN, access points, DNS, ISP, etc.)
Management of the disaster recovery strategy
Maintenance of hardware and software asset inventory
Setup and administration of Windows servers, Linux servers (CentOS)
Be actively engaged in troubleshooting and liaising with developers on active project development
Analysis and improvements to availability, efficiency, capacity, scalability, security and performance of products
Management of IT budget and purchasing
Skills
Linux (RHEL/CentOS) installation, configuration and maintenance
Windows 2003/2008 domain admin, preferably including Storage Server 2008
Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows desktop installation and maintenance
TCP/IP networking, network design, planning and installation
Linux scripting/programming
Virtualised server environment maintenance (VMWare ESXi , VirtualBox)
PC and server hardware knowledge
Advantage
Database administration (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Knowledge of Fortinet, Cisco or Netgear firewalls
Embedded systems
Video streaming and multimedia networking (CDNs, UDP Multicast)
Experience in TV and video technologies (e.g DVB)
Backup Exec 2010 and/or 2012, LTO5
