The role
Are you a Principal Software Engineer with 8+ year’s experience developing with Java or .NET (or both) and in-depth knowledge of building large web scale applications - Do you have full SDLC and want a new challenge, then let’s talk!
What you will be doing!
* Provide technical design support to the FCAT engineering organization.
* Perform application proof of concept functions including evaluation, environment setup, persona development, system modelling, and environment support
* Work with multiple development teams in design process and make suggestions/recommendations based on the usage requirements
* Be the evangelist for key technologies that are deemed strategically beneficial
* Provide support to acquisition of new technologies
* Support distribution and exposition of technologies (in-house and partnered)
* Interface with Technology Operations and infrastructure groups to plan and manage changes in the production environment
* Ability to analyse complex business & technical problems and implement solutions and/or workarounds
* Project coordination and planning
* Evaluation and recommendation of software products
What you need! (applicant with majority of skills will be considered also)
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
* 8 or more years Java / .Net development experience. Exposure to Oracle is highly desired
* At least 2 years experience in UNIX and working knowledge of UNIX scripting languages (e.g. PERL, shell programming)
* Browser Based User Interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Flash, Flex
* Experience creating reusable components/widgets, SDK/worked in UI framework areas.
* D/HTML, Flex, CSS 1-3, JavaScript, AJAX, JSP and XML
* SOA (Web Services, REST), J2EE, JDBC, SQL
* Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Object Oriented Design (OOD) principles and implementation, in addition to designing and implementing MVC software architectures
* Project development lifecyclefrom obtaining business requirements, developing User Experience documentation, creating User Interface (UI) prototyping, to coding and testing
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Experience in the Investment Industry would be a plus
* Flexibility to travel as required

Location: West Dublin
