You will be working in an Agile environment with team of passionate technicians and with the company that is focused on innovation and working with exclusively niche technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop consistent, reliable, maintainable, performance focused Oracle code
* Model conceptual, logical and physical database designs
* Take ownership for the design and development of database elements of the system and facilitate necessary review sessions
* Contribute to and drive the adoption of Data Engineering processes and practices
* Liaise with senior database engineering colleagues in multiple locations (US/Ireland/India)
* Proactively communicate with DBA, QA, developers and business analysts
* Collaborate with engineering colleagues working in the following technologies - middle tier (Java) and UI (client web interfaces)
* Travel outside Ireland on occasion, if required.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL
* Expertise in data analysis
* Experience in SQL performance tuning
* Experience in designing data access layer for real-time and batch applications
* Familiar with multiple database concepts, i.e. RDBMS, OODB, ODS, Warehouse
* Experience in developing using formal development methodologies (Agile experience a plus)
Desired
* Familiarity with logical data modeling and relational database design experience using the CASE tool PowerDesigner
* Data movement and ETL experience (preferably Informatica)
* Experience working in UNIX environment
* Experience in Shell scripting preferably C-Shell/K-shell
* Experience working with project teams located in multiple geographic locations.
