Key Responsibilities
Management role responsible for oversight and leadership of teams focused on the implementation and maintenance of new and existing operational support systems that include:
* Incident Management
* Change Management
* OS and Software Deployment
* Availability and Performance Monitoring
* Correlation and Analytics
* Service Impact Analysis
* Event and Alert Management
The Software Development Manager will drive and manage the architecture, analytics and visualization frameworks for service deployment and service operations.
This will include working with Development, QA, Operations and Release Management teams to automate manual steps in relevant processes...
* You will participate in sizing and planning activities within the team
* You will participate in code reviews and other peer based development activities
* You will maintain a focus on delivering business priorities and value at all times
Skills and Management Capabilities
* Degree in Computer Science / Electronic Engineering or IT related discipline
* 4+ years industry experience in Software Development Management - preferably within a .NET Development Framework
A strong software development background prior to holding management roles will be crucial -
this would include a background working with the following tools/methodologies, etc:
* Strong object oriented design skills and Agile experience
* Scripting experience (Shell Scripting, Windows PowerShell, Python, Perl)
* Demonstrated ability to integrate platforms/components using a broad range of programming languages.
* Knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Linux
Desirable
* Previous experience developing enterprise-class software
* Previous experience with automation of IT operations
* ASP.NET MVC development
* Web Services development
* Familiarity with open source monitoring tools (e.g. Cacti, Nagios, Net-SNMP, RRD)
* Familiarity with open source configuration management tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet, CFEngine)
