Senior Software Engineer Java - Dublin
My client, who offers arguably the best working environment in Ireland, has a program of work second to none. These projects are providing various technology challenges, and as a result we are building a team of highly skilled Java engineers. Currently we are looking to recruit Java engineers, Senior Java engineers, and a Lead developer with lead/management experience.
The successful engineers with be involved in the design and development of solutions that acquire, manage, and distribute financial and reference data as well as providing technical and team leadership . This role will be involved in the design, development and support of a next generation data management layer using semantic web and big data technologies
RESPONSIBILITIES
" Relationship building with the application users and associated technical teams
" Assist others in the implementation of a complex-scope project
" Perform independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives
" Design and develop applications or subsystems on major projects on multiple platforms
" Design and perform unit level and integrated system testing
" Participate in application deployment planning, execution and validation
" Contribute to on-time and on-budget project goals
" Provide ongoing application support, problem diagnosis and resolution
" Contribute the continuous improvement of methods in an Agile/Lean environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
" Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
" At least 5 years industry experience in a software development capacity; with hands-on experience of Java and experience with relational databases (SQL stored procedures)
" Develops original and creative technical solutions to development efforts
" Ability to work closely within a geographically dispersed team to solve problems, transfer knowledge, and develop overall product architecture
" Experience with Agile/Lean development principles
" Excellent written and verbal communication skills
" Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
" Experience of quality assurance processes
" Customer facing and relationship management skills
