Senior Software Engineer Java - Galway
My client, who offers arguably the best working environment in Ireland, has a program of work second to none. These projects are providing various technology challenges, and as a result we are building a team of highly skilled Java engineers. Currently we are looking to recruit Java engineers, Senior Java engineers, and a Lead developer with lead/management experience.
This is an agile development team and the position will require working on all areas of the software development lifecycle, and on all application tiers. The candidate should have a strong interest in technology and the ability to learn quickly. The successful candidate will work closely with a diverse team of software engineers, DBA's and business partners in a multi-national, geographically distributed environment. They should be an excellent communicator - both verbal and written.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor level degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical field
* Software development best practices, OO design, patterns
* Java web application development, Spring MVC, Open Source
* JavaScript, UI design
* Database design and SQL
* Agile development practices, continuous build and integration
* Strong analysis and written documentation skills
* Strong problem solving skills
Experience with the following tools, technologies and practices are desirable but not required, as the candidate will learn these as part of the job:
* Linux / Unix Operating systems
* Tomcat, dojo, restful web services (XML, JSON)
* UI design and development - Dojo
* Hibernate and Ibatis
* Automated testing
* Collaboration tools such as Confluence
* IBM Rational Team Concert
* Clearcase and Hudson
* Oracle 10G, 11G, Oracle RAC
