Software Engineer Java - Dublin

Due to the ongoing and increasing demand they are now seeking a Software Engineer to add to its rapidly expanding Production Support team with the responsibility for the design, development and Unit Test of J2EE components to enhance the existing product suite.
Main Responsibilities
" Design, development and unit testing of J2EE components to agreed standards in a timely manner to enhance our product suite
" Analyses Business requirements to produce functional specifications, proposing various alternative technical solutions based on different architectures and techniques and providing realistic and accurate development estimates.
" Lead initiatives to improve existing quality standards and/or productivity, ensuring audit&quality standards maintained across all technical areas and collaborating with fellow developers providing guidance and mentoring when required.

Required skills, experience and qualification
" 3 years or more of designing, development and unit testing in a J2EE environment
" Experience of JBoss/Web Logic, Apache, Tomcat, EJBs, JSP, JDBC, MySQL, JUNIT, PL/SQL environments
" Knowledge and experience of full development lifecycle
Desirable skills, experience and qualification
" Computer Science degree or equivalent
" Use of and familiarity with Continuous Integration Testing
" Experience and appreciation of test driven development
" Use of automated testing tools such as fitnesse; grinder; jmeter;selenium
" Web Services (SOAP) Development Experience (Axis /.NET / etc),XSL, Aspect Orientated Programming (AOP) an advantage
" Experience working in Agile projects and Scrum practice
" Experience of working or building web sites an advantage
