Our Client has an opening for a Senior Product Business Analyst within the Product Management Team. The role of the Senior Product BA is to manage the product life cycle from scheduled roadmap functions through to functional specification ensuring that the delivered products conform to the required specifications.
A Senior Product Business Analyst has to be able to understand and communicate the big picture, but should also care about the detail. They must be able to act as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for products they work on and be able to provide expert product support to the various teams. The Senior Product BA will report directly in to the Product Business Analyst Group Lead.
Essential
* Financial Services, Software Engineering or Product Management background
* Significant experience of working as a Business Analyst
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Process orientated and strong analysis skills
* Able to work on own initiative
* Understanding of Java and J2EE architectures
* Data model and database tool experience
* Microsoft Office suite including Visio
* Presentation experience
* Knowledge of the SDLC process
Desirable
* Experience in using Jira, Confluence and Solutions Central
* SQL skills
* Understanding of Application Servers
The specific responsibilities that relate to this role include:
Stakeholder Management
* Identify and build relationships with appropriate stakeholders to establish product scope
* Collaborate with Technical Authors to manage the delivery of product documentation
* Actively participate in the roll-out of product knowledge to other parts of the organisation
* Provide expert product support to other teams within the organisation
* Work with various product stakeholders and the product management team on analysis of new products
* Give input into proposed product roadmap
Business Analysis
* Be recognised as a market domain Subject Matter Expert (SME)
* Build process maps and functional designs in the support of analysis work
* Be able to flesh out higher level requirements into constituent parts
* Be a mentor to other Business Analysts on complex areas of the product
Requirements Management
* Collect, clarify and document use cases and functional requirements for assigned products
* Translate requirements into Functional Specifications and receive stakeholder sign-off on same
* Monitor Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure delivered product confirms to specifications![]()
