I am currently looking to recruit an experienced & knowledgeable DevOps Engineer with a strong background in SQL and UNIX background. This individual will be a member of a product team which designs, develops and supports enterprise wide financial analytics products.
My client provides Enterprise level solutions for Resource Planning, Billing, Data Warehousing Management, Business Intelligence, Metadata management and Profitability solutions.
This role will appeal to an SQL/UNIX Engineer with excellent analytical and communication skills who wishes to gain significant skills and experience in the areas of Data Warehousing, Agile practices and Business Intelligence (BI) as part of global product.
Primary Responsibilities
* Develop robust engineering solutions for the Finance enterprise data warehouse.
* Collaborate with the Business Analysis and Testing Teams to ensure timely and effective solutions for product enhancements, tickets and defects.
* Peer testing, code review and impact analysis of the modules developed by the other members on global team.
* Triage technical issues reported by Business Analysts, performing analysis to identify root causes and appropriate remediation steps using various tools (e.g., OBI, SQL).
* Provide engineering level application support.
* Collaborate with peers and superiors on automation opportunites, process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve our customer's end-to-end service experience.
* Provide technical leadership to junior team members.
* Actively participate in Technology Communities of Practice to advance the organisation.
Qualifications/Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in a Technology-related discipline.
* Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in support and development of complex applications.
* Experience working with a Finance function is a plus.
Skills and Knowledge
* Strong SQL development and UNIX scripting. Knowledge of batch control systems, e.g. Control-M or similar an advantage.
* Excellent problem solving and data troubleshooting skills are critical for success in this role.
* Must have strong communication and collaboration skills with a primary focus on delivering business value.
* Creative, energetic, assertive hands-on professional who enjoys the challenge of change.
* Working knowledge of version control tools, e.g., PVCS, Subversion, etc.
* Strong time management and planning skills required.
* Exposure to Agile and Lean principles an advantage.
