My client is a world leading electronics design company and they currently have a requirement for an experienced Analogue IC Design Engineer for their facility in Cork.
Position:
In cellular wireless, my client is already a strong solution provider enhancing its positioning products with 2G, 3G and LTE connectivity. Their design centre in Cork provides the strategic RFIC design capability in this field and the centre is the focal point for Cellular RF design within the organisation; the team being responsible for designing and characterizing the hardware and software for state-of-the-art integrated products. They are in the process of growing this team and have an opportunity for a talented IC analogue engineer with relevant experience in analogue IC design.
Tasks:
* Specify and design analogue filters both continuous and discrete-time, either receive or transmit mixers, DAC and ADC circuits
* Integration of these analogue circuits with both RF and digital circuits
* Design of test plans for these circuits both in lab and at final test
Requirements:
* Degree educated in Electronics or Communications Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent experience
* 6+ years design experience in analogue IC design and expertise in the latest analogue CAD flows for CMOS technologies
* In-depth understanding of analogue circuit design techniques, simulator options and capabilities and IC layout design techniques and verification methodologies
* Experience with analogue circuit blocks such as analogue filter techniques, both continuous and discrete-time, mixers, DAC and ADC circuits
* Experience in design for reuse and statistical design techniques
* Experience of carrying out analogue block characterization in the lab, automated test experience an advantage
* Experience over full product life cycle of an analogue/RFIC from initial specification to transfer to production an advantage
* Team player with excellent communication skills
