IT Support Engineer Requirements:
Responsibilities:
* Install, support and maintain new server hardware and server infrastructure
* First point of contact to provide support to customer’s needs
* On Site / Off Site Support and Installations
* Respond to clients calls and analyse and resolve faults
* Analyse and resolve faults - from major system crashes to forgotten passwords
* Prioritize, update, respond to and escalate support tickets
* Monitoring and maintaining remote servers and respond to critical alerts
* Firewall and Router Support
* Work closely with other IT staff and engineers and customers
* Carry out routine security checks and undertake preventative measures to maintain network security
Essential Skills:
* In-depth knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Windows OS, Exchange Server, SQL Server and TCP/IP.
* Sound technical knowledge of IT security, networking protocols, software and hardware devices, firewall and VPN configuration, remote access, backups, content filtering, malware and virus protection
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to think and work independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to correctly and assertively prioritise work, handle a range of different concurrent issues and handle user enquiries efficiently.
* Knowledge of HyperV and VM Ware technologies
