Our client are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Administrator for a long term / permanent role based in Dublin
Salary: Negotiable
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Linux Engineer with a complete understanding of the Debian and RedHat Distributions and underlying applications with a focus on Apache, Postfix, MySQL and BIND.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assessment of e-mail logs in order to troubleshoot & repair problems in syntax, addressing, mail delivery, and mail server failures
* Knowledge of BIND and DNS technologies / Knowledge of complex MySQL installations, configuration, backups, permissions, new user and database setups, stored procedures as well as basic understanding of SQL Syntax
* Strong understanding of Apache configurations under various operating systems / Strong understanding of TCP/IP including routing IP in complex environments
* Solid understanding of Network Monitoring and Management utilities, including Cacti and Nagios, shell scripting and SNMP.
* Possess a proven track record of ability to work both independently and with a diverse group of developers and engineers, set priorities with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
* 5+ years experience working with computer networks and data communications with a focus on Linux / UNIX Operating systems, primarily Debian and RedHat
* Proven track record of managing multiple environments consisting of many Linux/UNIX servers, and applying updates and patches appropriately
